One of the most important holidays celebrated across the globe is Mother’s Day. For the students at Mountain View College, this was a special donation of love and honor to their mothers. Here are the highlights of this year’s celebrations.
One of the first things you must know about Troilo, Nicaragua, is that Mother’s Day is celebrated on May 30th every year. Yes, that’s right. Unlike the rest of the world, which celebrates it earlier. Nonetheless, the ceremony is no less spectacular.
As the day dawned, anxious students rushed to the center to fine-tune preparations and decorate the auditorium. As early as 6:30 a.m., they flocked to the compound with balloons, posters, and other decoration materials. Their hearts were set, and not even heavy rain would prevent a great day for these mothers.
Mother’s Day Celebration at Mountain View College Built on Love
With limited participation of staff and well-wishers, the students kicked off the celebration, giving thanks to God for another successful day. The program flowed smoothly with the main master of ceremonies, Jonathan Torres, a former student and pianist.
The program featured special contributions from each grade, interwoven with special treats that engaged the participation of voluntary mothers. Among the initial presentations were song tributes by Cinthia Jiron, Maritza Lopez, and Jenifer Linarte.
Group presentations included a folklore dance by the eighth grade, a special dance by the eleventh grade, and special group poems from the other three grades. One of the most interesting presentations involved the homeroom teacher of the ninth grade as they presented their poem.
As you may be guessing, there were tons of prizes and surprises. Five mothers won special gifts for participating in different contests. One of these contests was directed by Anthony Martinez, a graduate of the college.
As the morning rushed away, all mothers were treated to a special brunch with their children in their various homerooms.
Conclusion
Mountain View College knows how to celebrate, and this year’s Mother’s Day ceremony was a testimony to their love and loyalty. As these youngsters donate their hearts, you can help them by donating your resources. Help make better leaders. You are that powerful.
